FIFA 08 Is Best Selling Game Of 2007 In UK

Regular UK chart compiler Chart-Track have revealed the top ten selling video games of 2007 in the UK, with Electronic Arts’ soccer simulation FIFA 08 beating out competition from Nintendo’s two Brain Training games and Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 2008.

The list of top ten selling titles are based on the combined format charts, where multiple SKUs of the same game, across all different formats, are combined into the same position. This naturally gives precedent to multiformat releases, with only four format exclusives in the top ten.

Although specific sales figures had been leaked for the top ten, showing that Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training (aka Brain Age) was the single highest selling title of the year, these have subsequently been blocked by ELSPA for copyright reasons.

As such, the top selling game of the year technically remains Electronic Arts’ FIFA 08, followed by Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training and Activision’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 was the fourth best selling title of the year followed by Nintendo’s More Brain Training from Dr Kawashima (aka Brain Age 2) at number five.

Microsoft’s Halo 3 was the sixth best selling game of the year, followed by Electronic Arts’ The Simpsons Game, Nintendo’s hardware bundle Wii Play, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed and THQ’s WWE SmackDown Vs. Raw 2008 at number ten.
