Publisher Midway has announced that its executive VP, CFO, and treasurer Thomas Powell has resigned, appointing VP Ryan O'Desky as its interim CFO, and announced new marketing and business development executives as its senior marketing VP also departs the company.
The search for a permanent CFO has already begun, said the publisher. It added that Powell has left the company "to take a position with another firm." Senior marketing VP Steve Allison has also left the company, but will stay in an advisory role until the end of March.
In his place, marketing VP Mona Hamilton -- who joined the company in 2003 from Ubisoft -- will "take on responsibility for all marketing activities throughout the North American region, including brand management, product marketing, creative services, and public relations."
Product acquisition and business development VP Lee Jacobson will also be taking on additional responsibilities, to include "licensing and in-game advertising, as well as third-party developer relations."
In late December, the company announced that
Shari Redstone, former vice-chair and daughter of the company's largest shareholder, Sumner Redstone, has been appointed to board chair, following the departure of Kenneth Cron.
Said Midway president and CEO David Zucker, “Midway has a deep and experienced management team, and Mona, Lee and Ryan will be instrumental in moving Midway forward into 2008 and beyond. We thank both Tom and Steve for their contributions to Midway and we wish them continued success in their future endeavors.”
