WayForward Announces WiiWare Horror Puzzler Lit
WayForward Announces WiiWare Horror Puzzler Lit
March 6, 2008 | By Leigh Alexander

Independent developer WayForward Technologies (Contra 4, Shantae) has announced it is developing an original 3D horror action-puzzler called Lit exclusively for Nintendo's WiiWare download service.

WayForward says the "3D horror puzzler" is set in a high school overrun by monsters, and casts the player as below-average student named Jake who is tasked with escaping the school and reconnecting with his girlfriend.

While no release date has yet been announced, Lit director Adam Tierney says the team decided to make the game an action-puzzler "because of how infrequently horror and puzzling gets combined in games, and to squeeze out the greatest amount of gameplay possible from a limited file size."

Commented WayForward CEO John Beck, "This is the first time in recent memory that our team has felt the freedom to begin experimenting on consoles outside the confines of established IP, budget, or publisher dictates. The scope and business model for WiiWare really make this possible."
