Quad Software has announced a new release of its Grome terrain and virtual scene modeling application, adding support for automated tasks by scripting and new editing brushes, and processing speed improvements for existing tools

Additionally, Quad says it has enhanced integration with client development pipelines and engines with new data exporting plug-ins capable of exporting very large data sets.

The company also revealed some of its most recent licensees, including Square Enix, EVE Online creator CCP Games, and MMO developer Star Vault, adding that several universities implement Grome for graphical courses and multimedia projects.

Adrian Licuriceanu, Quad Software technical director in charge of Grome development, commented, “During the commercial existence of our product we listen to our clients’ suggestions and based on that we try to continually improve our application. I think that version 1.2 is a good improvement to all since we’ve added quite interesting new features like brush operating fractals and also largely optimized previous editing."
