Microsoft that the latest Xbox Live Arcade update is to be Treasure’s cult-hit vertical shooter Ikaruga, which is to exclusively feature the ability to record and play back game play movies. In addition, two new downloadable content packs will be made available for Void Star Creations’ Poker Smash.
In Ikaruga, players must switch their ship’s “polarity” between black and white to both maximize their damage output (against enemies of the opposite color) and to become invincible against bullets of the same color, with high scores gained through “chaining” enemy kills of the same polarity.
Ikaruga on Xbox LIVE Arcade is also to feature a two-player co-op mode both locally and over Xbox Live, plus a slow motion training mode.
Ikaruga is to be available worldwide for 800 Microsoft Points ($10), and the downloadble content packs for >i>Poker Smash, which contain two Action Mode environments in the Environment Pack and an additional 15 puzzles in the Puzzle Pack, are to be available for 100 Microsoft Points ($1.25) each.
