According to a post on Sony's official PlayStation.Blog detailing the development teams currently working on BioShock for the PlayStation 3, 2K Marin executive producer Alyssa Finley has revealed that an unnamed studio will be assisting 2K Marin, 2K Australia, and 2K Boston with the port.

Though development on the project is being led by Novato, California-based 2K Marin, sister studios 2K Australia and 2K Boston (both formerly known as Irrational Games), are also contributing to the port.

2K Boston makes up the largest portion of the BioShock team at the moment, according to Finley, currently working on unannounced components for the PlayStation 3 version. Finley also disclosed that the physics simulation has been optimized and refactored to take advantage of the console's hardware.

Finley chose not to unmask the mystery studio collaborating with the 2K teams, but she did promise to reveal that detail eventually, along with more in-depth information on new and reworked features exclusive to BioShock's PlayStation 3 release.

Explained Finley: "Because this is the first PS3 title from 2K Marin, 2K Australia and 2K Boston, we’ve also got another development partner with some outstanding PS3-specific coding chops helping out with the project - we can’t talk about what studio that is yet, but we look forward to revealing that in the future."
