Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and UK-based developer and publisher TT Games (Lego Star Wars, Lego Indiana Jones) have partnered to deliver Guinness World Records: The Videogame for the Wii and Nintendo DS in fall 2008.
Guinness World Records hopes to enable gamers of all ages to play through activities and accomplishments featured in the Guinness World Records books, such as growing the longest fingernails, walking a tightrope across the Grand Canyon, and eating a jumbo jet.
The title’s different challenges will be available through a single-player mode, a co-operative multiplayer mode, and a competitive multiplayer mode for groups. Though neither company provided any specifics, Guinness World Records will also offer players a chance to have their names appear in the official Guinness World Records book.
The first edition of Guinness World Records book series was published in 1955. The books have been published annually since, selling a total of over 100 million copies in 100 different countries and 24 languages.
Said TT Games Publishing managing director Tom Stone: “Guinness World Record lends itself wonderfully to an interactive experience for the whole family. We’re excited at this opportunity to team up with such a well-loved institution to create a really fresh and fun game.”
