SCi Appoints New Financial Officer

UK based publisher SCi, owners of Eidos Interactive, have announced the appointment of Robert Brent as the company’s chief financial officer (CFO). Brent is current head of research at KBC Peel Hunt – SCi’s joint broker – and will join the company’s board at a date to be agreed.
Brent joined KBC Peel Hunt in 2000 as a technology analyst, specializing in the retail sector from 2001 onwards and becoming head of research in 2006. He currently leads a team of twenty equities analysts and editorial staff. He was also formerly a Royal Navy officer for ten years.
SCi chairman Tim Ryan commented: “Robert brings extensive knowledge of SCi through his 5 years of researching and analyzing our business and the video gaming sector as a whole. In addition, he has worked very closely with the new management team on the current re-structuring program and communication of the new business strategy.”
“Combine this knowledge with his extensive management and capital markets expertise, and we have a new CFO who will be a significant asset to the group with the ability to deliver the financial leadership needed during the important next stages of implementing our new business strategy," continued Ryan.
“SCi has recently turned an important corner with a sensible new business strategy in place, a new management team and a more stable financial base following the company's successful recent fundraising,” said Brent.
“It has a rich portfolio of video game franchises, such as Tomb Raider, Deus Ex and Hitman, which have the potential for strong growth across the world. I am delighted to be joining SCi at this exciting point in its development.”
