Atlus Announces Persona 4 U.S. Release For December

Atlus has announced that it will bring its PlayStation 2 RPG, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4, stateside on December 9th. Scheduled to release in Japan on July 10th, Persona 4 will be the sixth installment in the series and the follow-up to Persona 3: FES, which shipped in the U.S. in April 2008.

Persona 4 promises 60+ hours of gameplay, challenging players to balance their activities leading a supernatural team of investigators and chasing a serial killer with their normal high school life of classes and part-time jobs.

The new entry places emphasis on team control, now allowing players to directly maneuver and command their teammates. In previous Persona games, players were only able to set the general tactics of their party members.

Atlus intends to release each copy of Persona 4 as a “special two-disc set”. In addition to the game disc, a soundtrack CD featuring selected music tracks from Persona 4 will be included with the set.
