iPhone Publisher Ngmoco Gets Kleiner Perkins Funding

Publisher ngmoco, the recently founded iPhone exclusive publisher headed by former EA vet Neil Young, has announced that it has secured a round of funding from venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins, the investor group behind Apple's $100 million iFund to seed third party iPhone development.

Former EA CCO Bing Gordon recently announced he had joined the firm as partner. With the ngmoco funding, Gordon will also become a member of the publisher's board.

No other terms of the fund were given in the latest release, nor any further details on ngmoco's future plans, other than using the investment to "create, acquire and publish games built specifically for the iPhone and made in collaboration with the best and brightest gamemakers in the world."

Said Gordon, “Apple’s iPhone has the potential to be one of the best portable gaming platforms ever created. After a decade of working closely with Neil on category-defining games, I believe ngmoco has the potential to produce killer apps that will help define this new device.”
