Now that Wii Music has been revealed, said Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, the company has exhausted the majority of its original ideas for the Wii.

Wii Music completes what Miyamoto wrote in his proposal when he came up with the idea for the Wii," Iwata told the Wall Street Journal. "He was saying that he needs to think up more ideas now.".

When asked whether any additional accessories where planned in the future, after the recently revealed Wii MotionPlus and Wii Speak, Iwata answered: “Most of the ideas for accessories that we had initially come up with are out now. We might think up some more, and we might make them if we do, but we don't have any plans to release a whole lot more.”

Iwata also provided specific statistics regarding the migration of new users to more traditional games. “Of the people whose first video game purchase was Brain Age, about 35 percent bought more games within 90 days,” he said. “Of those, more than 10 percent have now bought eleven titles or more.”

Other topics included the possibility of Nintendo offering a video download service to rival the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with Iwata refusing to rule out the possibility but indicating that the company would only do so if it could offer a service that was identifiably different to those already on the market.

“If we have no ideas, we're not going to compete with the exact same services against companies like Sony, which has a movie studio, and Microsoft, which has a lot of money,” he said.

Iwata also indicated that the company’s new focus could be on developing countries. “We'll have a whole new dimension of issues to tackle like pricing, quantity availability and regional adaptation,” he stated. “We're not going to meet our goals that easily.”
