Capcom On 130,000 Rearmed Units Sold: 'The Bar Has Been Raised'

Bionic Commando: Rearmed has sold over 130,000 units in its first seven days. That's according to producer Ben Judd, who also says the downloadable franchise reboot, available on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and PC, has earned the highest aggregate metacritic ranking of any of Capcom's digital titles to date.

On the game's official blog, Judd says his original estimation for how Rearmed might perform was 100,000 units, and that the estimate felt "overzealous" to him at the time.

"Consumers voted with their dollars," says Judd. "They basically have sent the message loud and clear: We are tired of meta-emulated crap; we want the titles of yesteryear to be paid the proper respect; we want them done right, and if the price is right, we'll buy."

"Basically, we have set a standard in digital gaming. The bar has been raised and [consumers] have let developers around the world know that if they invest the time, money, and heart into making (and remaking) some great games, [they] will support that initiative."

Judd is a great public figure, he REALLY contributed a LOT to hyping the game up...
