$1.1 Million Worth Of PlayStation 3 Games Stolen

£600,000 ($1.1 million) worth of PlayStation 3 games are missing in the UK after being stolen twice -- first from their shipping driver, and then again from the Leeds police's "secure" depot.

The stolen games are comprised of seven shipping pallets, including Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto IV and 16,000 units of Ubisoft's Brothers In Arms: Hell’s Highway

According to British daily tabloid paper The Sun, while the shipping driver rested, thieves loaded the pallets into a blue Renault truck. Cops in Leeds noticed the Renault's fake number plates and seized the truck and its stolen loot -- but the truck was later stolen again when shutters at the impound depot were smashed.

Police found the Renault in a Matalan car park in nearby Bradford, West Yorks days later, but the games were gone.

Says a police spokesman, "We are pursuing a number of lines of enquiry, including eBay transactions where a number of the games have been potentially identified as being advertised for sale. Arrests have already been made in respect of this."

Ubisoft reassured gamers in the region that copies will still be available to purchase, commenting, "Fans needn’t worry as more stock is being parachuted in."

Renault needs to include more efficient DRMs in their trucks.

Wait...

At least I suppose it shows that pirates has to do it the old way, as far as the PS3 is concerned? :P

The guys that did this probably done it to show WHAT is stealing and WHAT is piracy, PIRACY IS NOT STEALING, THIS IS STEALING!

And I agree!

Now that someone stealing games is bizarre, it is...

This reminds me of an episode of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Fast Forward. Some gang stole a truck of new games, and the turtles pursued the gang to rescue the games.
