Electronic Arts announced two new MySims spin-off titles for the new year, MySims Party and MySims Racing, each game developed by The Sims Studio and set to appear on both the Nintendo DS and Wii.

In MySims Party, familiar MySims characters offer a collection of minigames that can be played one right after the other, or as a competition between friends.

The Wii version provides 50 minigames such as snowboarding or racing against a robot, while the DS release has 40 minigames in which players can dig up dinosaur fossils or play a first-person shooter with "Goth Boy."

MySims Racing for the DS and Wii allows up to four players to race against each other online and offline, using power-ups such as a heat-seeking jack-o-lantern pumpkin or a bubble dropper.

The racecars can be customized with different bodies, paint jobs, and accessories, and can also be improved with new engines, suspension, and tires.

Debuting in 2007, the first MySims title went on to sell over 1 million units on the Wii and Nintendo DS. A sequel, MySims Kingdom, was also released for both systems in October 2008 .

"When we created the MySims world, we believed that the MySims characters could be part of a variety of different gaming experiences," said Tim LeTourneau, Executive in Charge of Production for MySims. "We are thrilled to bring MySims Party and MySims Racing to fans and new players alike.”

He continues, "We’ve had great success with MySims, with both the original game and this fall’s MySims Kingdom. Players have really connected with the characters and now we are giving them two completely new and exciting experiences. We believe that MySims Party and MySims Racing, are great ways to couple the creativity and humor players love about the franchise with great multi-player arcade gameplay."
