More: Console/PC

Networking-oriented business event Game Connection is reporting 220 exhibitors confirmed for its Game Developers Conference appearance next month.

Game Connection 2009, taking place March 24 to 26 in San Francisco, is described on its official site as "a unique speed dating event for business-focused game makers."

Though 40 percent of exhibiting companies hail from North America, it will host companies from more than 30 nations, with 15 percent comprised of companies headquartered in Asian countries.

The organizers also pitch the event as "a gold mine for first looks at upcoming projects of all genres and for all platforms." Exactly half of the confirmed developers, 110, develop for PC, with the next most-common platform being Wii with 75. Interestingly, 35 companies are said to focus on the downloadable platforms Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and WiiWare.

Also present will be tools and services companies, including outsourcers, middleware providers, motion capture firms, and others.

A full exhibitor list as well as registration information is available on the official Game Connection site.
