The Triangle Game Conference, set to debut April 29 and 30, 2009 at the Marriott City Center in Raleigh, N.C., has announced its line up of tracks and speakers, most formidably keynote speaker Dr. Michael Capps, president of Epic Games.
The conference is intended to serve the game development community of the research triangle (the area between Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, known for its research universities and resulting industries) by providing a learning exchange on market innovations, game development trends, and the future of the video game industry.
The theme of the conference is “Innovate or Die,” which will be explored through five conference tracks: game technology, game design and production, serious games and advanced learning technologies, games and media, and the business of games.
In addition to lectures and panels, the Triangle Game Conference will feature an expo, career center, and a student-oriented exhibition to help aspiring game developers tap into educational resources and make connections with industry leaders.
Other confirmed speakers include Marq Singer of Red Storm Entertainment, John Austin of Emergent Game Technologies, Hal Halpin of the ECA, Heather Chandler of Media Sunshine, and Julianne Greer, executive editor of The Escapist.
