Although U.K. sales of Electronic Arts' The Sims 3 for PC dropped 48 percent week-on-week, the game was still able to hold off the launch of the Activision Blizzard game Prototype, Chart-Track said Monday.

The Sims 3 topped the all-platform charts for the week ended June 13, followed by Prototype, which launched on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. On Chart-Track's individual platform sales charts, The Sims 3 was on top, with the Xbox 360 version of Prototype following in second place.

The Sims 3 launched a week prior to Prototype, debuting in the number one spot. The Sims franchise has sold over 100 million units worldwide to date.

Prototype for Xbox 360 and PS3 were the only new two brand new SKUs in the top 10 during the week, although EA Sports' new Wii MotionPlus-compatible Grand Slam Tennis debuted at number 12.

Falling out of the top 10 from last week was the PS3 version of THQ's Red Faction: Guerrilla and Activision Blizzard's Guitar Hero: Metallica for Xbox 360.

The PS3-exclusive Infamous broke the top 10 for another week, dropping from six to nine on the chart. Exercise games Wii Fit and EA Sports Active also were in the top 10.

Below are the unit sales rankings for individual platforms for the week ended June 13:
