Double Fine's heavy metal game Brutal Legend, and Naughty Dog's Uncharted 2: Among Thieves garnered four nominations apiece from the multi-outlet supported Game Critics: Best of E3 Awards, the organization said this week. The two games led all other nominees.
Critics nominated the Sony-published Uncharted 2 for Best of Show, Best Console Game, Best Action/Adventure Game, and Best Online Multiplayer Game. Brutal Legend was nominated for Best of Show, Best Original Game, Best Console Game, and Best Action/Adventure Game.
Electronic Arts led all other game publishers with the amount of nominations, garnering 18 nods. Sony followed with 13, Activision with 10, and Nintendo and Microsoft with five each.
The Game Critics Awards, which are not affiliated with E3 organizers Entertainment Software Association, are an annual roundup of E3 games voted upon by game critics from 29 outlets, including USA Today, GameTrailers, PlayStation: The Official Magazine, GameSpot, and IGN.
Eligible games for the Best of E3 Awards had to be playable at E3, held earlier this month in Los Angeles. Winners will be announced on June 23.

for the racing category Mod Nation or Split/Second should get it.. they are at least trying to do something innovative and expand on the racing genre. Forza will probably get it which is puzzling because it really is the same game with an expanded track list and cars.. Shift is in the same category as Forza.. it really isn't doing anything that hasn't been done before.
