Sony's Hirai To Keynote Tokyo Game Show

Sony Computer Entertainment boss Kaz Hirai will give the keynote this year at the Tokyo Game Show in September, where he'll talk about "New Tactics For 2009."

According to a report from Japanese site Gpara translated by consumer weblog Kotaku, this year's event will also feature a panel on global strategy including Square Enix, Capcom and Bandai Namco.

Last year's TGS keynote was delivered by Square Enix president Yoichi Wada, also chairman of event organizer and Japanese trade body CESA. His presentation hinged on possible solutions for developers in a Japan he said has "lost its position" as the leader in the global marketplace.

The event last year broke records for the four-day event, attracting 194,288 visitors. This year's TGS will take place September 24-27 at Chiba's Makuhari Messe; the first two days are industry-only, and the second two are open to public attendees.

"Tactics" without a sound "Strategy" behind them can lead to disaster... I wish Sony could enlighten us on their new strategies first.
