Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's Worldwide Studios senior VP Michael Denny will kick off the Develop Conference's first Liverpool event with a keynote, organizers have announced.

Denny will discuss how Sony's first-party studios seek, select and commission original IP from independent developers. The one-day Develop in Liverpool conference will feature three tracks of talks: Evolve, which focuses on developing games for new platforms, technologies markets; Coding and Production, and Art and Design.

Organizers have revealed some of the talks on the Evolve track, including "Turning Browsers into Gamers for Fun and Profit" from Jolt Online's Dylan Collins and "What the Music Industry Can Teach Us About Digital Distribution, from Universal Music's Simon Watt, among others.

The Coding and Production track will include Realtime UK's Tony Prosser on "Role of the Production House in Game Development and Marketing," a Bizarre Creations talk on "A Bizarre Way to do Real-Time Lighting" and many more, while TT Fusion will discuss the art of Lego Rock Band, and SCEE's Charlie Hasdell will talk voice control in SingStar on the Art and Desgn track.

"The Develop conference always represents an important gathering for the Industry, offering a great opportunity for sharing both knowledge and insights," says Denny. "The UK remains a beacon for the Global games development industry, and the North West has been a creative hub within the UK development scene for many years."

"I'm very much looking forward to the event, and it's a privilege to be invited to deliver the opening keynote at this inaugural event in Liverpool."

Interested parties can see all the announced sessions and further event info at the event's official website.
