Today's round-up includes news of DS productivity software in Japan, as well as an unofficial PSP to PC transfer cable from Datel.

- Nintendo is releasing a set of educational and productivity software for its Nintendo DS handheld in Japan. Each of the titles uses the microphone or touch screen in some way; Nou o Kitaeru Otona no DS Training (translated by GameSpot as Brain Training on the DS for Adults) is a quiz game using the microphone to answer; Yawaraka Atama Juku (Prep-School for Brain Flexing) is similarly focused but relies more on the stylus; and DS Rakubiki Jiten (Quick-search DS Dictionary) is a dictionary program allowing users to find the definition of kanji characters drawn on the touch screen.

- Though a host of homebrew applications have surfaced for organizing and transferring media onto Sony's PSP, Datel has announced the first official third-party device for doing so. The Get Connected USB cable, which will launch for $14.99 on the same day as the system, comes with MAX Media software to transfer music, image files, movie clips, and game saves to and from the Memory Stick Duo storage device used by the PSP. Datel additionally plans to host a website dedicated to exchanging save data for PSP titles.
