Gamasutra is proud to present GDCTV, a new section showcasing streaming high-quality video content of some of the notable sessions of this year's Game Developers Conference.

In this second edition, in a format that includes streaming video with accompanying slides, we present Keita Takahashi's "Rolling the Dice:The Risks and Rewards of Developing Katamari Damacy", his GDC 2005 lecture originally described as follows:

"Keita Takahashi made his directorial debut with the quirky sleeper hit Katamari Damacy. The game presents players with a refreshingly unique, genre-defying game design, in which the player rolls game objects into an ever-increasing ball, while working against the clock. In this session, Takahashi-san gives an inside look into how he conceived, developed, and shepherded the game through Namco's corporate system."

You can now access the current GDCTV streaming lecture (a brief, free registration process is required if you have not previously registered.)
