Serious Games Summit Adds New Sessions

The organizer of the Serious Games Summit, to be held from October 31st to November 1st, 2005, at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Virginia, have announced a number of new sessions to be added to the conference program.

Particular new highlights include Curtis Murphy discussing 'Observing the Naval Observer Project', discussing the implementation of a serious game developed for the Office of Naval Research, a panel on 'The Role of Pedagogy and Educational Design in Serious Games', featuring Perry McDowell (Executive Director, MOVES Institute), Jan Cannon-Bowers (Professor), and Marc Prensky (Founder & CEO Games2train), and a Jay Watamaniuk's lecture on 'How BioWare Makes Game Communities Work', discussing "the key methods BioWare has developed to achieve success with an online community.

In addition, a Developer Showcase has been announced to debut at the Summit, aimed at bringing potential serious game developers and program managers together to network - it will also enable developers to demo game content to interested parties.

More information on the Summit, which is operated by the CMP Game Group (also the owner of Gamasutra), is available at its official website, and early registration for the Summit expires on September 21st.
