Today's wrap-up includes news of a new Unreal Engine game somewhat surprisingly being Steam-distributed, a way to challenge everyone's favorite Microsoft exec via Xbox Live, and an extended deal to bring Neversoft titles onto mobile phones, thanks to Activision and Jamdat.

- Another game has been added to the roster of titles available through Steam, Valve's digital distribution service. Tripwire Interactive's Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45, an Unreal Engine 2.5-based WWII shooter from the Russian point of view, has been selected for inclusion in the service. "Working with Valve to release the game over Steam allows Tripwire to remain independent and keep control of the game's content and development," said Tripwire president John Gibson. No release date for the game has been announced yet, but the game's official site indicates more news coming in the next few weeks.

- J Allard will be available for Xbox Live Gold members to challenge in games of Perfect Dark Zero and Project Gotham Racing 3 between 5:00 and 7:00 PM Eastern time for those who are able to purchase Xbox 360 systems on November 22, the system's launch day. Allard will be using the Xbox Live gamertag of "HiroProtagonist," taken from the novel Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson, so that users can distinguish him from the other launch-day participants. Those who beat Allard in either game will win prizes; winners will be announced on the official Xbox site on November 23.

- Jamdat Mobile and Activision have announced that the two will continue in their existing partnership to bring Activision's games to mobile phone platforms, including the next title in the Tony Hawk series. Jamdat will also work on bringing a version of Gun, Activision's new wild west game, to mobile platforms. "We are very excited to extend our relationship with Jamdat," said Activision Senior Director of Business Development Dave Anderson. "In addition to continuing our success with the Tony Hawk franchise, we believe that Gun will be another great game that we can bring to mobile gamers worldwide."

- Also updated today: product news including the release of NaturalMotion 2.5 Learning Edition, as well as the latest Gamasutra job postings, including positions from Blue Fang Games, Disney Buena Vista Games, Mythic Entertainment, Ready At Dawn Studios, Retro Studios, Rockstar Games, Seven Studios, Sportvision, and Volition.
