Konami Forms i-Revo With Internet Initiative Japan

Konami Corp., the Japanese headquarters of the amusement and game publisher, has formed a joint company with Internet Initiative Japan, a high-end networking company. The new company, called Internet Revolution Inc., will operate certain unspecified consumer portal websites, with one of the attractions being Konami-provided digital entertainment content.

Said content, according to the newly formed company's announcement, will consist of "new communication services, Internet connectivity services, distribution of products related to music and video, distribution of games, search service, information service, and e-commerce." Konami did not reveal which games it would distribute over the Internet Revolution (shortened i-Revo) portal.

"Konami has strengthened the online business with our expertise in developing content and digital technologies in our digital entertainment business," said Konami Corp. president Kagemasa Kozuki. "By establishing a joint venture company with IIJ, which has proven Internet technologies and operations, we will offer portal sites which every user can make use of with enjoyment and sense of security."
