E. Daniel Arey

E. Daniel Arey is Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Big Red Button Entertainment. As a 20 year veteran of the games industry, Dan has worked with a number of top companies including EA, Activision, Crystal Dynamics, Ready at Dawn, Acclaim, Brash, High Impact, Mighty Play, and MTV to name a few. An early proponent of advanced linkages between game design and narrative technique in videogames, Dan has headed up or assisted in the development of a number of best selling titles, including Gex, Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter, and the highly acclaimed Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. As a Senior Designer and Creative Director at Naughty Dog-Sony for ten years, he helped develop, design, write, and direct 7 platinum best selling game titles, totaling more than 35 million units sold and counting. He is a frequent writer/lecturer for GDC, The State Department, Writers Guild of America, DICE, GI and is an adjunct professor at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts.
