Brenda Brathwaite

A 23-year veteran of the video games industry, Brenda Brathwaite is a game designer who has worked on 21 published titles including the award-winning Wizardry series of role playing games and the award-winning Jagged Alliance series of strategy role-playing games. She is a professor of game design at the Savannah College of Art & Design.

As a consultant, she is currently a designer on an Xbox 360/PS3 game for a major publisher. Brenda is a frequent speaker at industry events including the Game Developers Conference, the Women's Game Conference (a part of the Austin Game Conference) and Future Play.

She has also been a guest lecturer at numerous universities and colleges. Brenda is an active member of the IGDA, and the founder and chair of its Sexuality in Games special interest group. She is active in the IGDA and issues of censorship, legislation, retail rating awareness and sexuality within video games. Brenda's book, "Sex in Video Games" was released by Charles River Media in the fall of 2006.
