Column: 'Critical Reception: Tekken: Dark Resurrection '

This week's Critical Reception takes a look at Namco Bandai's Tekken: Dark Resurrection for the PSP, the first PSP title for the Tekken series.

This arcade port of the latest Tekken update sits quite well with video game reviewers scoring an 89% average according to GameRankings.com.

Yahoo! Games' Russ Fischer summarizes and concludes: "Tekken on the PSP features simply fantastic graphics, excellent play in a variety of modes, and suffers only minor setbacks from cramped controls. The verdict? A win!"

In elaborating on his qualms with the game's controls, he says, "The controls do suffer slightly from the PSP hardware. The size and positioning of the d-pad makes it less than ideal for inputting combos, especially when the time comes to nail a diagonal or perfect quarter-circle sweep. That aside, the performance and response are excellent."

You can now read the remainder of this column, including input from GameSpot's Jeff Gerstmann and 1UP's Patrick Joynt (no registration required).
