Gamasutra's weekly column, "Saling The World", covers the top five real-time Amazon.com sellers for every available platform in the United States, Japan, and Europe, providing an important update of sales patterns worldwide.

This week's charts, with data taken from May 14th, 2009, find the recently released Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2 topping PlayStation 2 sales numbers in the United States, while Death Smiles and Dragon Ball Kai lead in Japan.

Data for "Saling The World" comes courtesy of the public sales information on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, and Amazon.co.jp, with sales split out for each platform and territory, and pre-orders disregarded. This results in a true sense of what games are selling worldwide on the real-time updated service, as follows:

Nintendo Wii
North America: 1. Lego Indiana Jones (LucasArts), 2. Wii Fit (Nintendo), 3. Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo), 4. Gold's Gym Cardio Workout (Ubisoft), 5. My Fitness Coach (Ubisoft).

Japan: 1. Wii Fit (Nintendo), 2. Winning Eleven Play Maker 2009 (Konami), 3. Shape Boxing: Wii de Enjoy Diet! (Rocket Company), 4. Wii Sports (Nintendo), 5. Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo).

UK: 1. My Fitness Coach (Ubisoft), 2. Wii Fit (Nintendo), 3. Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo), 4. Wii Play (Nintendo), 5. Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party (Ubisoft).

A discounted Lego Indiana Jones leads the Wii charts in North America, marking a rare week in which Wii Fit fails to finish as the region's top seller. Demand for Mario Kart Wii remains as strong as ever, while Gold's Gym Cardio Workout outpaces My Fitness Coach in weekly sales numbers.

Wii Fit remains on top in Japan, where it beats out Konami's recently released soccer management sim Winning Eleven Play Maker 2009. Shape Boxing: Wii de Enjoy Diet! moves up to take third in regional sales, as Wii Sports and Mario Kart Wii trail at fourth and fifth.

Xbox 360
North America: 1. Disney's High School Musical 3: Senior Year Bundle with Mat (Disney), 2. Fable II (Microsoft), 3. Halo 3 (Microsoft), 4. Raiden Fighters Aces (Valcon), 5. Gears of War 2 (Microsoft).

Japan: 1. Death Smiles (Cave), 2. Halo Wars -- Limited Edition (Microsoft), 3. Gears of War -- Xbox 360 Platinum Collection (Microsoft), 4. DoDonPachi Daioujou Black Label Extra (5pb), 5. The Last Remnant (Square Enix).

UK: 1. FIFA 09 (EA Sports), 2. Gears of War 2 (Microsoft), 3. Grand Theft Auto IV (Rockstar), 4. Left 4 Dead (EA Games), 5. Resident Evil 5 (Capcom).

Disney's film-based dance simulation title High School Musical 3: Senior Year takes top honors in U.S. Xbox 360 sales this week, thanks to a recent "Deal of the Day" promotional price drop at Amazon. Fable II and Halo 3 follow close behind, while positive word-of-mouth buzz places the shooter compilation Raiden Fighters Aces in the regional top five in its debut week.

In Japan, Cave's arcade shooter Death Smiles finishes at first place for the second week in a row. Cave's DoDonPachi Daioujou Black Label Extra also makes a top-five finish this week, as Square Enix's The Last Remnant drops to fifth.

PlayStation 3
North America: 1. Saints Row 2 -- Collector's Edition (THQ), 2. Killzone 2 (SCEA), 3. LittleBigPlanet (SCEA), 4. Resident Evil 5 (Capcom), 5. Grand Theft Auto IV (Rockstar).

UK: 1. SingStar: Queen (SCEE), 2. SingStar: ABBA (SCEE), 3. FIFA 09 (EA Sports), 4. SingStar '80s (SCEE), 5. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 (Square Enix).

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2 is off to a fast sales start in the United States this week, topping the regional sales chart thanks to high demand for a plush toy bundled with all preordered copies.
