Product: Rabidlab Selects Digital Armor For Dodge that Anvil!

Anti-piracy and copy protection software developer ECD Systems has announced that its Digital Armor copy protection solution has been chosen by independent developer Rabidlab for its downloadable game, Dodge that Anvil!.

ECD Systems has developed a new version of Digital Armor to protect downloadable games using a “try-before-you-buy” approach. Consumers can legally download and play Rabidlab titles for a specified trial period, then choose to buy the game once the trial period is over. Digital Armor protects the files from being shared or pirated during the test drive.

ECD Systems representatives note that this new version of Digital Armor provides file protection and anti-hack and anti-intrusion capabilities, and is designed specifically not to interfere with the gameplay experience by not installing drivers or other unwanted technologies on users' systems.

Rabidlab was one of four finalists selected by attendees of the E3 conference, where ECD held its Independent Game Developers Showcase in May, 2006. Dodge that Anvil!, Rabidlab's entry in that contest, is also the company's first new game release via download.

“As an independent developer, our goal is to provide a broad audience of gamers with great new play experiences while continuing to grow our business,” commented Rabidlab owner Jake Grandchamp. “It's important that we can share our latest releases without worrying about piracy or gamers' systems being hurt by copy protection. ECD's technology is the perfect fit for our download trial model.”
