MumboJumbo, Nickelodeon Partner For Casual Games

Officials from game developer MumboJumbo (Luxor) have announced a new partnership with Nickelodeon to develop and publish casual games based on the children’s media company's popular franchises.

The companies confirmed plans to release three of these titles in 2007, the first of which will be Charlotte’s Web: Word Rescue, which will be based upon the recently released live action film adaptation of E.B. White’s Charlotte’s Web.

Other brands to be made into casual games as part of this deal include Neopets, the popular youth focused virtual pet-based website, and Nickelodeon's animated action television series Avatar: The Last Airbender. Charlotte’s Web: Word Rescue will be released through MumboJumbo’s network of online game portals. The Neopets and Avatar titles will be released during the second quarter of 2007, with more exact dates expected in the coming months.

MumboJumbo, which in a different incarnation was formerly a full-price PC game developer (Myth III: The Wolf Age) is best known as the developer of popular casual PC games such as Luxor: Amun Rising and Chainz 2: Relinked, as well as UltraBall and Twisty Tracks.

“We are excited to enter into a partnership with a company like MumboJumbo, one of the most trusted and well-respected publishers of family-friendly, casual games and online PC titles, and to continue to enhance Nickelodeon and MTVN Kids and Family Group’s casual gaming offerings,” said Paul Jelinek, vice president of Digital Media Products for Nickelodeon and MTVN Kids and Family Group. “We’re excited to add branded content on some of our top properties to our audience’s casual gaming experience.”
