The PS3 version of Tetsuya Mizuguchi's ethereal shooter Child of Eden has reportedly been delayed until September, months after a planned June 14 release for the Kinect-powered Xbox 360 version.
IGN reports that Ubisoft has set a new target for the PlayStation Move-powered version of the title, which is heavily inspired by Mizuguchi's cult classic Rez.
The title was nominated for Best Original Game and Best Motion Simulation Game by the E3 Game Critics Awards, but lost both selections to Harmonix's Dance Central.
After viewing a demonstration of the game earlier this month, Gamasutra's Simon Parkin said it had a "trance purity that... heave[s] and build[s] to an overwhelming climax of sound, music and art," as shown in a new trailer for the title.
Or you know, they might have just been falling behind schedule and rather than delay both versions, they decided to delay one so they could more easily get the other one out on time.
Weren't they undecided on if they were going to support the Playstation Move in the beginning? I seem to remember the game being confirmed as a Kinect game, but Move support was "being considered".
That could be a cause for the delay.
