NECA Secures Rights To Produce Valve Toys

NECA Secures Rights To Produce Valve Toys

June 8, 2011 | By Mike Rose

The National Entertainment Collectibles Association, an American manufacturer of collectible toys, has entered into an agreement with Portal 2 developer Valve.

The company will be producing products based on all of Valve's game titles, including the Half Life universe and Team Fortress 2. Products will include action figures, toys, board games, accessories and apparel.

Joel Weinshanker, president of NECA Games, explained, "When Valve approached us to make their content, characters and art come alive in the physical world we were of course excited at the possibilities."

"We quickly realized that our two companies have a similar view on how to ensure products exceed expectations of devoted fans and are thankful to be working with them."

The company said that it will be releasing more information regarding upcoming Valve-related products and accessories in the coming weeks.

Valve released its latest game, Portal 2, a couple of months ago to critical acclaim from gamers and the press.
