Sony Offers North American Vita One Week Early For Bundle Pre-orders

North American customers who purchase a PlayStation Vita bundle, including launch title Little Deviants, will be able to play the system a week before the official February 22 release date.

The "First Edition Bundle," now available for pre-order at Amazon, includes Bigbig's minigame collection as well as a "limited edition case" and 4GB memory card. The U.S. bundle will feature the 3G + Wi-Fi model of the hardware for $350, while a Canadian bundle will include a Wi-Fi-only hardware for CDN$300.

It's unclear whether other PlayStation Vita software and online features will be ready for purchase and use when the bundle is made available February 15.

Sony announced the February 22 launch date for the European and North American version of the Vita earlier this month, though no similar Early Access Bundle has been announced for Europe.

The region-free system will hit Japanese stores December 17, fulfilling a January promise to release the system in at least one region before the end of the year.

Over 100 titles are currently in development for the multi-functioned portable, according to Sony.

I am excited for the Vita, but this Wifi-only/3G split between the two territories is just odd. Hopefully both territories will receive complementary choices soon.

This is great news.............if i can play it. Can someone let me know if sony will allow users to fully customize a master control profile so we can just get on with gaming and not be concerned that such a sweet device may simply be UNPLAYABLE due to lack of foresight.

I'd hate to run out and get vita only to have to send it to the same guy who modded my 360 pads only to have sony firmware update vita to do what i need and to have vita slim with a mini hdmi tv out.

Much to consider but oh so nice, playable that's yet to be determined.

Not to be rude, but what are you talking about? Just curious.

This is actually a pretty smart move. They don't alienate the general consumer base but still get some extra cash for those who would have bought it at higher prices and want it asap.
