Spark Unlimited Adds Two To Studio Team

Spark Unlimited (Call of Duty: Finest Hour, Fall of Liberty) have announced that the studio has hired Amos Marvel and Bill Perkins as HR director and visual development supervisor, respectively.

New human resources director Amos Marvel has been hired, says the company, to play a key role in recruitment efforts as well as "establishing a distinct identity for the company."

Prior to working at Spark, Marvel worked for Disney Feature Animation Studios, as well as Insomniac Games, the latter of which saw Marvel heading up creative recruitment efforts which saw a 50 percent increase in studio size.

Animation art veteran Bill Perkins has been brought on as visual development supervisor after working with Spark on a freelance basis from his own High Street Studio, established in 2001. With High Street, Perkins has lent his talents to a number of Spark projects, including Turning Point: Fall of Liberty.

Prior to High Street, Perkins worked on a number of film projects including Shrek, Space Jam, The Little Mermaid, Iron Giant, Fantasia 2000 and Aladdin, and worked as mentor and teacher to new trainees at both Warner Bros. and Disney.

Said HR director Marvel, “The positive working environment at Spark Unlimited is an ideal fit for me and I’m looking forward to growing the studio by adding fresh talent that will help us define the future of game development. The combination of giving our employees a stake in the company and ensuring they have a healthy work life balance, coupled with our innovative production approach gives us an edge over our competitors.”

Perkins added, “Spark’s philosophy to drive creative thinking is something many companies say, but really don’t mean. I’m fascinated by the video game industry and am looking forward to injecting some of my own ideas into our games. I’m grateful for my career in film, but gaming is a whole new world for me to create and explore,” stated Perkins.
