2007 KRI Russian Developer Conference Announces Details

Organizers of the KRI Russian Game Developer Conference have confirmed details of the fifth annual event, to take part in Moscow from April 6th to 8th.

Despite the name, the conference is not associated with CMP Game Group’s GDC events, but will nevertheless offers a chance for an international audience to network, lecture and demonstrate their games. The previous year’s event saw more than 3,000 visitors and representation from more than 120 game companies from Russia, CIS states, Baltic states and other countries.

The 2007 event will again feature a casual games section, after its introduction last year, with a number of presentations by Russian casual gaming portals. A new online section will also be added to the schedule, for both client-based and browser-orientated games. Companies involved in the online content of the conference include IT-Territory, Akella, Buka, Nikita, Nival Online, Sibilant Interactive, TimeZero and WIW.

Also announced for the 2007 event is a master class from Rafael Chandler, director of consulting firm Media Sunshine. Chandler’s session will be entitled “Next Generation Game Development” and will be divided into four hour long segments dealing with game design, production, localization and narrative.

Further information on the conference, including session specifics and other relevant data, can be found at the official website.
