Crave Announces Crayola For DS, Mirra For Wii

Publisher Crave Entertainment has announced two new games for Nintendo systems, including a port of the PSP's Dave Mirra BMX Challenge for the Wii, and a yet-untitled Crayola crayon-themed adventure game for the DS.

Though details are still light on the game that will come from Crave's partnership with Crayola, so far the publisher has said the title will allow players armed only with Crayola crayons and a map to adventure around the globe seeking hidden treasures.

The company says players will draw and color their way through mini-games and obstacles to complete special quests and discover treasure. No official title or release date has yet been announced.

Said Crave VP for product planning and business development Mark Burke, "Crayola crayons are an integral part of American childhood. We’re honored to be partnering with a company that has been synonymous with childhood creativity for more than a century to bring a classic piece of American culture to an entirely new medium."

Crave has also announced the latest in its BMX series starring X-games champion Dave Mirra with Dave Mirra BMX Challenge for the Nintendo Wii.

Currently available on Sony's PSP, the Wii version of the game will include 13 bikes and 12 environments, each of which includes two race paths, and both race or trick-oriented modes.

The title will also feature fully customizable player characters, along with Mirra himself, and, Crave says, several control options that will utilize the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers. The game is expected to be released in June 2007 at a lower price-point of $29.99.

Said Crave senior VP Jim Flaharty, "Dave Mirra BMX Challenge will be the first BMX game for Wii. The immersive Wii controls combined with the thrill of BMX racing will make Dave Mirra BMX Challenge a real treat for action sports fans."
