Newsbriefs: Worms DLC, Fatal Fury , Killzone PSP Content

[UPDATED: 11:00am PST] Today's regularly updated newsbriefs include news of new DLC for the Xbox Live Arcade version of Worms, SNK bringing Fatal Fury: Battle Archives Volume 1 to North America, and new content for Killzone Liberation for the PSP.

- Developer Team 17 has announced the release of new downloadable content for the recently launched Xbox Live version of its seminal classic Worms for the Xbox 360's Live Arcade service. Starting today, players can download three new landscapes, including an outer space themed board for free and a Hell and jungle landscape for 150 Microsoft Points ($2) each. A free collection of voices has also been released, along with a theme pack for 150 Microsoft Points ($2) and two sets of gamer pictures of erring 5 pictures for 100 Microsoft Points ($1.25) or 12 for 200 Microsoft Points ($2.50). Worms itself can be purchased from the Xbox Live marketplace for 800 Microsoft Points ($10).

- Following the recent release of SNK Playmore's fighting series compilation for the PlayStation 2, Art of Fighting Anthology, the company today confirmed plans to release Fatal Fury: Battle Archives Volume 1 for the PS2 this summer. The collection will contain four classic games from the arcade fighting series, including the first three titles in the franchises as well as Fatal Fury Special. "With the release of Fatal Fury: Battle Archives Volume 1 for the PlayStation 2 system, a brand-new generation of gamers will be introduced to one of SNK Playmore's fighting classics," said SNK Playmore USA president Ben Herman, "and gamers who loved playing Fatal Fury in the arcades will relish the chance to revisit the golden age of 2D fighters."

- Sony has released a new freely downloadable update to its popular PSP action shooter Killzone Liberation. The update, titled Chapter 5,introduces new content to the game, as well as support for infrastructure online play and additional story elements to further the game's plot. The download also adds new environments, vehicles, and new multiplayer maps, both for ad hoc and infrastructure play. What is perhaps most interesting about this update is it will allow players, upon completing any level within the game, to access the game's official website through the PSP and access new in-game content and other prizes.
