Nexon transforming Korean dev into global company with increased investment
Newsbrief: Seoul-based Nexon will increase its stake in JC Entertainment and become its largest shareholder, as its looks to transform the Korean developer into a global company.
The
MapleStory publisher will increase its stake in JCE to 22.34 percent -- last October, it
purchased a 16.34 percent stake for $54 million. Nexon says it can expand the reach of JCE's games with its "business strengths, live service, and experience with platforms around the world."
JCE, which also has offices in China and Japan, is best known for its
Freestyle line of street sports MMOs. Its other free-to-play titles include MMOs
Warbible and
Redmoon, and smartphone games like
