Newsbrief: The organizers of the International Games Innovation Conference in New York have issued a call for papers for this year's upcoming event, particularly seeking submissions on game design and the future of the industry.

The conference focuses on peer-reviewed papers that examine new innovations in game development, and welcomes participation from video game professionals, academics, government officials. Organizers hope to see papers that cover a range of topics, from practical disciplines to emerging technologies and beyond.

The submission deadline is Monday, April 16, and the 2012 International Games Innovation Conference will take place September 7-9 at The Strong in Rochester, New York.
