Newsbrief: The Independent Game Developers Association has announced the results of its annual Board of Directors election, welcoming former Microsoft executive Ed Fries and Design Direct Deliver founder and consultant Sheri Rubin as the newest members to join the Board's ranks.

These candidates were chosen via popular vote among 979 participating IGDA members, and each will serve three-year terms. During that time, they will help the organization advocate important issues that affect the game development community.

Alongside these new appointments, four previous Board Members have left their positions. These outgoing members are 1st Playable Productions' Tobi Saulnier, Funzio's Jamil Moledina, Spry Fox's David Edery, and Berfield Productions' Scott Berfield.

For more information on these changes to the Board, visit the IGDA's official blog.

Really only 979 participants in the vote? Isn't that WAY down from previous years?

No - this was for the Independent Game Developers Association, you're thinking of the *International* Game Developers Association ;)

Cue Life Of Brian-inspired sketch.
