Newsbrief: Phosphor Games will release a major update and a new free-to-play version for Dark Meadow: The Pact, its popular first-person survival horror title for iOS.

With tonight's update and free-to-play release, the Unreal Engine 3-powered game will offer paid content that users can purchase for extra features (iPad 3 retina support, "Fast Travel" warps), new environments, new enemies, new weapons, and more.

Players who've already purchased the game will receive the premium content update for free. Phosphor Games also intends to release the free-to-play version of Dark Meadow: The Pact to Android devices next month.

Released last October, Dark Meadow: The Pact is the first mobile title from Chicago-based Phosphor Games, which was founded by veterans from Midway Games. The studio previously worked on Kinect Adventures with Microsoft, and on Unreal Engine's tech with Epic.
