Gamasutra's regular round-up of worldwide video game releases, "Release This!", takes a look at every game title we know to be shipping to stores this week, in a custom compiled list.

This week brings the downloadable standouts Skullgirls and Fez to North America, while the UK gets a localized version of Pandora's Tower.

The following list covers all of the game software we know to be available -- across all platforms and regions -- for the week ending April 14th, 2012.

Games Released in the United States:

A strong lineup of downloadable console titles makes up for an otherwise uneventful week in North American retail releases. Reverge Labs' anticipated 2D fighting game Skullgirls emerges as a multiplatform standout, boasting deep team-based mechanics and lavish hand-drawn animation.

Other digital highlights include SpikySnail Games Studio's Xbox Live Arcade physics puzzler The Splatters, the Sour Patch Kids promotional tie-in game World Gone Sour, and Polytron's IGF Seumas McNally Grand Prize-winning platformer Fez.

3DS owners can expect to see Tecmo Koei's Fatal Frame spinoff title Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir, along with the Nintendo-published downloadable puzzler Ketzal's Corridors.

A fun weekend I'm going to have. Fez has been worth the wait and cannot wait to actually give it a go. Crush 3D has similar puzzle mechanics and are interesting ones. Love the innovation put into these puzzle games. And Legend of Grimrock too looks a lot of fun, albeit looking a little more 'hardcore' than Fez or any other game listed above.
