Newsbrief: Italian political party The People of Freedom, or PdL, has presented tax relief proposals for game development studios in Italy as part of a Digital Agenda initiative.

The proposal aims to introduce tax credit and tax shelter for the development of video games in Italy, along with tax credit for the distribution of games developed in the country. It also allows for venture capital firms to invest in Italian game companies.

The move follows the recent news that the United Kingdom will soon receive tax relief for the UK video games industry, as it aims to make Britain "Europe's technology centre."
