Newsbrief: Prize-based games platform Titan Gaming has reinvented itself through a round of funding, with a new name and a new focus on social casino gaming.

Now known as Playsino, the company has received $1.5 million from investor firm IDM Venture Capital, amongst others, and is looking to build the largest social casino game publisher on both social networks and mobile platforms.

As part of the rebranding, Playsino also has a new CEO, Brock Pierce, who has previously founded eight companies and acquired more than 30 others. Pierce says that Playsino plans to utilize the "virality and addictiveness" of social games like Farmville to monetize casino gaming for a hard-core audience.
