[In this weekly column, Gamasutra rounds up the most popular paid and free gaming applications on Google Play as of today, with Cut the Rope, Angry Birds Space, and Basketball Shoot currently ranking among the platform's top downloads.]

This week's top paid titles are:

1. Draw Something (OMGPOP, $1.99)
2. Cut the Rope (ZeptoLab, $0.99)
3. Angry Birds Space Premium (Rovio, $0.99)
4. Where's My Water? (Disney, $0.99)
5. Mini Motor Racing (The Binary Mill, $0.99)

8. Fruit Ninja (Halfbrick, $1.26)

10. Grand Theft Auto III (Rockstar, $4.99)

ZeptoLab's Cut the Rope earns a rare victory over Rovio's Angry Birds Space Premium this week, while Draw Something spends its seventh consecutive week atop Google Play's paid app charts.

The Binary Mill's overhead-view racer Mini Motor Racing makes its chart debut at fifth place, meanwhile, as Zynga's ZombieSmash returns to the top ten after an extended absence at seventh.

Here are this week's top free Android game applications:

1. Angry Birds Space (Rovio)
2. Basketball Shoot (Runnergames)
3. Temple Run (Imangi)
4. Logo Quiz (J-Roen)
5. Hambo (Miniclip)
6. Draw Something Free (OMGPOP)
7. Angry Birds (Rovio)

Angry Birds Space and Basketball Shoot remain Google Play's most popular free game apps for the second week in a row, as Imangi's autoscrolling platformer Temple Run climbs to third place after finishing fourth last week.

Miniclip's physics puzzler Hambo claims fifth place following a recent update, while Candy Mobile's Gold Miner competes with Words With Friends Free at tenth place.
