Gamasutra's regular round-up of worldwide video game releases, "Release This!", takes a look at every game title we know to be shipping to stores this week, in a custom compiled list.

This week brings Saber Interactive's Inversion to North America and Europe, while Sega's Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown premieres as a digital download.

The following list covers all of the game software we know to be available -- across all platforms and regions -- for the week ending June 9th, 2012.

Games Released in the United States:

Saber Interactive's third-person shooter Inversion headlines this week's retail lineup in North America, offering gameplay that focuses heavily on gravity manipulation and destructible settings.

Other standouts include the multiplatform animated film tie-in title Madagascar 3, a new expansion pack for The Sims 3, and a 3DS port for Ubisoft's Rayman Origins.

On the digital front, Sega offers a long-awaited home console port of its arcade one-on-one fighter Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown, while Digital Reality debuts its arcade-styled racer Bang Bang Racing for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC platforms.

Games Released in Japan:

Sony's action game Tokyo Jungle premieres in Japan this week, offering players a unique experience in which wild animals fight to survive on the city streets of a deserted Japan.

The PlayStation Vita gets its first Gundam-based game with the release of Artdink's mech combat title Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Battle Destiny, meanwhile, as the PSP hosts D3's visual novel Storm Lover Kai.
