Newsbrief: Capcom USA's Seth Killian, who has served as the face of the company's fighting games in the West, announced today that he is stepping down from his position after six years.

As the company's strategic marketing director of online and community and the co-founder of the annual EVO fighting game tournaments, Killian has not only played a major role in growing Capcom's fighting game franchises, but also the fighting game community at large.

Capcom often positioned Killian as one of its leading experts on fighting games, oftentimes mentioning him in the same breath as developers such as the renowned Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono.

In a goodbye post on the Capcom Unity blog, Killian said he will officially depart from the company on Friday, June 22 to pursue new opportunities, though he did not indicate what those opportunities will entail.

I hope Ono follows suit. Capcom seems to be making the classic mistake of a publisher undergowing rapid growth. They're pushing their devs to the limit for more rapid growth without any consideration for the staff, the creative process, or the effect that has on the quality of their titles.
