Newsbrief: Harvey Elliott, previously VP of EA's Bright Light studio and an industry veteran of 15 years, has joined the team at cross-platform development tools company Marmalade, taking up the role of managing director and COO.

Elliott has previously held positions at Acclaim Entertainment and EA, the latter of which he joined in 2003. Most recently he was VP and general manager at the Guildford, UK-based Bright Light, which developed EA's Harry Potter video game titles before closing around last Christmas.

At Marmalade, he will lead the SDK and Ideaworks 3D teams, as the studio looks to innovate the cross-platform development space. Marmalade's SDK tools have previously been utilized in the development of mobile games like Draw Something and Cut the Rope.

I hope that really helps them improve the lack of support help they have. I like the system but with no support for even basic needs, it just makes it hard for a developer to support it.
