Namco Bandai enters development partnership with DeNA rival Gree
Newsbrief: After cementing a joint venture partnership with Japanese social gaming giant DeNA, Namco Bandai has now also announced a business partnership with DeNA's rival Gree.
Namco Bandai and DeNA began working on social games for smartphones together last year, and in March this year
rebranded the venture as a means of showing their ongoing commitment to the initiative.
However, Namco Bandai is now also co-developing a number of titles with Gree for the Gree Platform, including a
Naruto game, a second social game based on the popular
Tales RPG series called
Tales of Card Evolve, and a
Pacman social game.
Five social games will be developed between the two companies in total, said Gree (
as translated by Serkan Toto), with each translated into English and other languages at some point.
